Multi-Session Recording

Combine multiple recordings into one comprehensive chart

Build Comprehensive Patient Charts

Patient encounters often require multiple recording sessions throughout the day - initial consultation, test reviews, follow-up discussions. ROSC.ai allows you to combine these sessions into one comprehensive chart.

When to Use Multi-Session Recording

  • Breaking for urgent interruptions during a consultation
  • Adding test results or lab findings to an existing note
  • Documenting follow-up conversations later in the day
  • Building progressive notes for hospitalized patients
  • Creating teaching notes with multiple learner interactions

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1

    Start your first recording session

Begin recording your patient consultation as usual. The recording interface will show the elapsed time and active status.

  2. 2

Tap 'Pause' when taking a break

If you need to pause (for an emergency, privacy during examination, etc.), tap the 'Pause' button. The recording will stop but remain associated with this patient encounter.

Note: Paused recordings remain active for 24 hours before auto-closing.

  3. 3

    Resume recording when ready

When you're ready to continue, tap 'Resume' on the paused recording. The system will continue capturing audio and append it to the same session.

  4. 4

Or start a new session for the same patient

Alternatively, you can start a completely new session for the same patient. Go to the patient's chart and tap 'Add Session'. This is useful for:

    • Adding lab review conversations hours after the initial visit
    • Documenting phone follow-ups
    • Recording specialist consultations
    • Capturing teaching points with residents
  5. 5

    ROSC automatically combines all sessions

When processing is complete, ROSC automatically combines all sessions into one comprehensive note, organizing the information chronologically and by topic.

Multi-Session Tips

  • Label each session with a brief descriptor (e.g., "Initial Visit", "Lab Review", "Follow-up Call")
  • Close sessions within 24 hours to ensure they're properly processed
  • Review the combined note to ensure proper flow and eliminate redundancy
  • Use timestamps to track when different information was gathered

How ROSC Combines Sessions

ROSC's AI intelligently merges multiple sessions by:

  • Consolidating duplicate information into single entries
  • Organizing chronologically while maintaining clinical logic
  • Highlighting new or updated information from later sessions
  • Maintaining clear attribution for when specific data was collected
  • Creating a coherent narrative from fragmented conversations

This feature is particularly valuable in hospital settings, teaching environments, and busy clinics where patient encounters naturally span multiple interactions throughout the day.
