EMR Integration

Connect ROSC.ai with your Electronic Medical Records system

Seamless Workflow Integration

ROSC.ai integrates directly with major EMR systems, allowing you to send completed notes directly to patient charts without copy-pasting or manual data entry. This tutorial will guide you through setting up and using EMR integration.

Supported EMR Systems

Major EMR Platforms

  • • Epic
  • • Cerner
  • • Allscripts
  • • athenahealth

Specialty Systems

  • • eClinicalWorks
  • • Practice Fusion
  • • NextGen
  • • Custom HL7/FHIR integrations

Important: IT Administrator Access

EMR integration typically requires administrator-level permissions. You may need to work with your IT department or practice manager to complete the initial setup.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1

    Go to Settings > Integrations

Navigate to your ROSC settings by clicking your profile icon and selecting 'Settings' from the menu. Look for the 'Integrations' tab in the left sidebar.

Quick Access: You can also access integrations from the main menu under 'Connected Apps'.

  2. 2

    Select your EMR system

You'll see a list of supported EMR systems. Click on your EMR provider to begin the integration process. If you don't see your system, select 'Other' or contact support.

  3. 3

    Follow authentication steps

The authentication process varies by EMR system but typically involves:

    • Entering your EMR credentials or API key
    • Authorizing ROSC to access your account
    • Verifying your provider credentials
    • Confirming HIPAA compliance acknowledgment

Security Note: ROSC uses industry-standard OAuth 2.0 and encrypted connections. Your EMR credentials are never stored on ROSC servers.

  4. 4

    Configure sync preferences

After authentication, configure how notes are synced:

    • Auto-Sync: Automatically send completed notes to EMR
    • Manual Approval: Review before sending (recommended)
    • Note Type: Select where notes appear in your EMR
    • Patient Matching: Choose how to match ROSC patients to EMR records
  5. 5

Test the connection with a sample note

Before going live, test the integration with a sample note:

    1. Create a test patient in both systems
    2. Record a brief test consultation
    3. Send the note to your EMR
    4. Verify it appears correctly in the patient's chart
    5. Check formatting, sections, and metadata

Integration Best Practices

  • Use manual approval mode initially until you're confident in the integration
  • Map ROSC note sections to match your EMR's template structure
  • Set up patient ID matching rules to avoid duplicate records
  • Train staff on the integrated workflow before full rollout
  • Monitor sync logs regularly to catch any integration issues early

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Notes not appearing in EMR

Check that auto-sync is enabled and your EMR credentials are still valid. Review the sync log for error messages.

Patient matching errors

Ensure patient identifiers (MRN, DOB, name) match exactly between ROSC and your EMR. Enable fuzzy matching if available.

Formatting issues

Adjust note templates to match your EMR's field structure. Some EMRs require specific formatting for certain fields.
